I went to Charleston, South Carolina over the weekend. It was a day trip from Atlanta, GA. The drive was about 4 ½ hours. We went to the beach!!! My daughter loves the beach. See photo below.

Hotel- Doubletree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport

Arriving at our hotel prior to check in time (3:00pm), and we were not able to check in. Many hotels will let you check in early if they had a room available. I took some pictures outside. We left the hotel to get something to eat. When we got back to the hotel to check in, the hotel was lovely. It was nice and clean. The room was comfortable and cute. Everything was new. If not new, was in great condition. There was a refrigerator in the room. The microwave was in the lobby near the desk.

We had drinks and dinner at the hotel. The mojitos were on point. They were tasty and delicious. I order the chicken piccata, and I enjoyed it. It had mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables (broccoli, green beans, onions and more). It had a good flavor.

Restaurant- Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar

We ate at this restaurant located in downtown Charleston. The restaurant was Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar. The wait was about an hour because it was busy. We were there around 1:30 PM. We drove around and viewed the scenery. The buildings had an older design. It reminded us of New Orleans. The homes were large and close together. Anyways, let me tell you about the restaurant. They had inside and outdoor seating. There was a large cruise ship docked outside. It did not matter where you sat in the restaurant; there was a view of the water. The place had windows all around. It was clean and good place for families to eat. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the house salad. I enjoyed both dishes. My two year old had chicken fingers and french fries. She enjoyed her food, as well.   My husband ordered the fried fish and fries. He said the dish was okay, but he is also a picky eater.

Restaurant- The Junction Kitchen & Provisions

We ate here for breakfast, before getting back on the road. It was about 15 minutes away from the hotel. We only had to wait for about 20 minutes, if that long for a table. There was a small coffee bar to get coffee while you waited for your table. The coffee was pretty good. They had all types of different mugs to choose from to get your coffee. I order the Mexican has without eggs and a side of pimento cheese grits, side of french toast. I enjoyed the whole meal. I thought the food was good. Everyone needs to try it for themselves.

Beach- Folly Beach

The parking at the beach was $15. The beach was nice.   The weather was nice. It was a nice clean beach. My toddler and I ran around on the beach and I put my feet in the water. The water was a nice temperature.

The trip was a nice change from sitting on the sofa on a Saturday.
