This past weekend my family and I drove to Jacksonville, FL from Atlanta, GA. The drive was about 4 \u00bd hours, but it took us an extra hour with all our stops.\u00a0 We stopped for gas and food. \u00a0Then when I was tired of driving, we had to stop to for my husband to start driving.\u00a0 Anyways it was a good drive.\u00a0 My daughter made it without whining until we were about 30 minutes from the hotel.<\/p>\n

We stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton Riverfront. Our room was nice.\u00a0 Please take a look at our view from the room\u2019s balcony below.<\/p>\n

I can say that I am never dissatisfied with the Hilton. The room was clean.\u00a0 The staff was friendly and helpful.\u00a0 The location was great for a quick weekend getaway.\u00a0\u00a0 At this hotel you can choose to self-park for $12 or valet for $20.\u00a0 We opted to self-park.\u00a0 The elevator took you right to their parking deck.\u00a0 The extra $8 was spent on late night ice cream.<\/p>\n

I wanted to take my daughter to the children\u2019s museum. She liked shopping carts because we were always in the grocery store when she was a baby.\u00a0 I saw online that this museum had a grocery store section in it.\u00a0\u00a0 So we went to the museum.\u00a0 My daughter was looking around and trying to decide what type of place is this.\u00a0 I showed her the grocery store section and she loved it.\u00a0 See picture below.<\/p>\n

This museum had different sections for the children to play. These sections included a train station, fire station, post office, police station, theater with stage, puppet section, a baby section, basketball, balls and slides, and more. After going through all the sections, my daughter was not ready to leave.<\/p>\n

I am so glad that she enjoyed herself.<\/p>\n

After this, my husband wanted seafood for dinner. So we searched on Yelp to find a good place.\u00a0 The place we found did not have tables for us to eat.\u00a0 We took the food to the room and ate there.\u00a0 It was delicious.\u00a0 I wish I could remember the name and that I took a picture to show but I did not.\u00a0\u00a0 Sorry.\u00a0 I will update this blog once I get the correct name of the seafood restaurant.\u00a0 We ordered crawfish and crab.\u00a0 I ordered my daughter the crab cake.\u00a0 She enjoyed all of it.<\/p>\n

For this trip to be one day, I had a good time. It was nice to get a way for the weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
